Does any one have any info on this knife...blade steel, price, release date. I just picked up the latest issue of TK and saw this fine looking blade on the back cover.

I just handled one yesterday. The fit and finish was perfect. Very nice wood handles. I read somewhere that the steel was "surgical". If you are familiar with surgical steel, then you know that it is not worth a hoot. It's probably 440A and I just read a misprint. It is made in Taiwan and it comes with a nice leather sheath similar to Benchmades Outbounder. Price: $49.95. But i imagine it will be less expensive on the net. Maybe $35-40.

Have you seen the Outbounder? It's 440c, but a little more expensive. I really like the look of the Gerber more though.

Gerber site says the Freeman is AUS-8.
