Gerber Freeman S30V

I have one and overall it's a well made knife. The only thing is the grind and edge are too thick for this size knife. I thinned and convexed mine. Unfortunately it removed a small amount of the coating up from the edge.

I own one and the S30V Gerber caping knife. The caping knife is great on birds. I have cut alot of card board with the Freeman (S30V) (on purpose to test the knife). Heavy refrigerator boxes. No chipping or problems. I have sharpened it very sharp using diamond sharpeners. No problem. I wish the blade was just alittle longer.

The only question I have is, is it truly as dark as the picture makes it out to be, I have seen other pictures that are significantly lighter.
