anyone ever heard of this knife? It has a blade like a Mark I or Guardian, and a plastic handle and sheath, and I believe it was designed by blackie collins.

I'd like to know a little bit about this knife.

thanks
Pete

I bought it at alco{think wal-mart}but not as nice. Seemed to be a good piece of steel. as you said designed by blackie collins. there were 2 models in this line, one a double edged dagger type and the other I believe a drop point. I saw one somewhere lately for about $50. wish i had kept mine, I paid $18. overall neat knife but nothing special. ahgar

I still have one I bought in the 80s. It's the drop point. I carried it frequently for a few years. It has a 4" stainless steel blade and is about 8.5" overall. The sheath is a hard plastic as is the handle. The knife locks into the sheath with a mechanical latch that is released by pushing in a lever on the underside of the knife handle. I always thought it was a pretty nice design.

Still have 2 of them. Both dagger or push knife styles with zero grinds. They cut like scalpels. Still great knives made when Gerber was still a contender ....

I have one in drop point LNIB that someone is interested in buying. Any ideas on what price I should ask for that is fair to both of us?

I have a Gerber Blackie Collins Frisco Shiv. I have the double edged version and got it at a gun show, probably in the early '80s. It is sharp as a razor and still just like new although I used to carry it some. I used to jog in the countryside a lot and there were always dogs that came out to challenge me and there weren't any Conceal Carry Pistoll Permits at that time so I wore the knive on a cord around my neck just in case a dog came after me at least I would not be completely defenseless. I would hate to have to face a bad dog with a little knife but it is better than nothing. Later I found that due to the double edged blade it was illegal to carry so I quit that. It is a very neat knife though and I take it out and play with it now and then.
