I have a number of Gerber Guardians (all three sizes) and Mark 1s and 2s I would like to display. However, many of them have scratches and chips on their handles and look rather seedy as a result. The ones I want to touch up have black-colored handles. My question is, does anyone have any recommendations on what to use to touch up the handles? Black paint suitable for metal? I realize I won't be able to recreate the texturing in the spots that need repair, but I would like to fix the scratches and chips in such a way that they blend in with the original handle color.

These knives are the ones with the cast aluminum handles from the late 1970s through the 1980s.I'm not worried about hurting collector value as the knives in consideration already have many blemishes.

Any helpful recommendations will be appreciated.
