Gerber Harsey Air Ranger?

I'm looking for a small to mid sized folder for daily carry (my current knife is a bit too big at times). I was considering the CRKT M16 Carbon Fiber, but it "just doesn't feel right" to me. Today, I found the Gerber Harsey Air Ranger. Apparently it's fairly new. I haven't been able to find much info on it. What does everyone here think? The dimensions are right and it feels good. What is the blade made of? What kind of quality can I expect?

Thanks
Chris

The Air Ranger is pretty new. We've only sold a handful of them. I don't know what the steel is but most of the Taiwan made Kershaws appear to be made of a fairly standard stainless which is fine. I like the fit and feel of the knife as well. I haven't carried one personally or even had a report from a customer but, if it appeals to you, I don't think you can go wrong. Take care.

The Gerber site says AUS8A.

I recently bought a Gerber 3.25 SLG (at KnifeOutlet; hi Fred) and I am positively surprized over fit, finish and ease to take it apart/reassemble. The blade (ATS34 in this case) was out of the box as sharp as Spyderco and Al Mar.
The only remarks I have is that there was some small oxidation on the liner-lock (easy to clean off but this should not happen. To be sure I know apply Tuff Cloth on it.) and the rather stiff initial opening (ball detent).

Conclusion : I think design and materials should be OK, price certainly is !

Thanks for your replies guys. I decided that since the price was good, I'd go ahead and get one. You got the sale Fred

I am kind of confused on one aspect of this knife. On paper, it seems nearly as large as my current carry knife. However, in the hand it didn't seem nearly as large. I know it's thinner, but it seemed much shorter in the handle and the blade (the difference is about .25" in both cases on paper). Oh well, paper specs mean nothing when compared to reality.

Well, I got my new Gerber Harsey Air Ranger yesterday evening. Thanks Fred@knifeoutlet.

I really like this knife. It's light, compact and just plain neat looking

What's really cool is that it is about 1/3" shorter and much thinner than my previous carry knife, but the blade is about the same length. I don't even notice it in my pockit (unlike the old knife).

Anyway, seems like a great knife for the price.
