Hi i'm new here and this is my first post, hope someone can help, I had a Gerber exchange blade knife 20+ years old and lost it i'm looking for same one to buy it had 3 blades, other then ebay which I check all the time anyone know another site I might check.

Thanks

I don't think they are made any more - if so, I will be corrected. Look at gun shows, knife shows, knife magazine classifieds, and with the huge network of collectors and traders. Of course, a periodic Googling with the product number, etc, may turn up something.

And their is always the various forum want to buy/for sale areas all over the net.

Sorry for the necro-thread, but it's spot-on for my question.

I just picked up one today with the clip point. I had NO idea of this model. It just opened EFFORTLESSLY, to a half-stop ala slip-joint, then the remainder to the lock-up. When you depress the lock, it will swing shut onto your fingers if you don't brace against the kick or hold on to the blade . Feels great in in the hand. Minimal play when locked open. But, when closed, you can rattle it like a maraca, LOL, with the blade slapping against each liner.

I was thinking the thing might need repair, LOL. Now, my "assumption" is this loosey-goosey fit is all about the swappable blades. Am I right?

Looks like the third one down in the link, but with the bottom blade.

On further examination, it's not the change-a-blade at all. In the locked position, i would be able to clearly see the deep u-notch opposite the lock-notch, just behind the ricasso. This blade doesn't have this at all. Nor was it machined off, as that would also be obvious. Did they produce this as a one-blade version also?

Just found it on the bay, a Model 7522....

So, that answers everything but how easy it opens and closes, and the looseness when closed.

It's worn and needs to be repaired. Ask around the Traditional section of the forum if it's an old school back lock.
