Anyone have one of these? What are you opinions? I know many have pretty low views on Gerber, but the Hinderer Rescue seems to have more features than its counterparts such as the Camillus Heat Rescue and Kershaw Blur Rescue.

Thanks.

Here is a review of the Gerber Hinderer Rescue Knife from equipped.com. They seem to be in favor of it. I have not used it so I cannot comment but it appears to be a functional rescue tool.

While not a strict knife, I use the Res-q-me and I find it to be a fantastic tool for cutting seat belts and breaking windows. I've used it only a couple of times but it's proven itself to me. I'm not sure what your needs are and such but I just thought I'd mention the Res-q-me.

I had one and did think it was a pretty good knife, but I found that I didn't trust the lock. It's a bit different than a regular liner lock in that the liner bends in the opposite direction than typical liners. It actually wants to go back to the
"un-locked" position and the button that disengages the lock actually pushes it into the "locked" position. It failed on me with a couple of very light taps and wedged itself into a position that required a pry back into position in order to close it. After this, it wouldn't engage consistantly into a "locked" position. And when it did lock up, there was play in the lock. Good overall idea, but lacked in strength, IMO. I bought for work as a firefighter, but wouldn't trust for it's intended purpose after this.
Hope this helps.
