Got a new Gerber for dirt cheap, but I have no idea what it is. Any ideas?

The knife is nice, but the stealth sucks.

They made an S30V version with checkered wood scales that was a fantastic knife. That appears to be one the regular variations, some different color and finish options were made to the standard model. It is a comfortable knife , however I didn't like how hard it was to clean out all the jimping. And yes the sheath is pretty bad, my buddy has one that I made a leather sheath for so he could actually carry it hunting.

Awesome, thanks!

Doesn’t seem to be that nice of a knife to me. The stealth is also trash. :/

You can make your own leather sheath. You can start with just a few things. Before I bought my steel Kydex/Leather press, I would put the leather pieces with the knife ( wrapped good with shrink-wrap to keep the blade from getting wet) situated in between them on a flat table, then lay the thick dense foam over the top of it. Then I would lay a thick piece of plywood on the foam and stack a bunch of books on it. For a Taco sheath, you just wrap the knife in between the dampened leather.
You can also mold or form the leather with your fingers. I always preform them a little bit with my hands before I press them to help keep everything from moving around before I get it pressed good. There is a wealth of info in the 'Sheaths & Such' area, and YT videos.

Edit: Be careful with the leather when it is wet. A slight touch with a fingernail will mark it. I also wear Nitrile/Latex gloves when handling dampened leather to keep any dirt and stuff or oils in my skin from getting on the leather. I should be back to my leatherworking in a couple of weeks.
