I've been thinking about getting one of these for times when I don't really need a blinding beam that shoots to the moon. I also like the small size. From what I've read, you can get a 30 foot beam distance and 100 hours of run time if you toss a good lithium AA in one of these, sites claim they are a very tough little light, and the price (25 or so bucks) is about what I want to pay.

But that might all be marketing hoop-lah. Anyone here have any real experience with these? Thanks for any feedback.

I've heard various things about them, mostly good. Although have you looked at the Fenix E01? Not the most beautiful beam with the Nichia GS, but I'll bet its brighter than the Gerber with 11hrs full brigthness and another 10hrs dimming off a regular AAA. Absolutely tiny as well!

I've had one for a couple of years now and would give it a thumbs up. It is a bright little thing that fits a pocket nicely. I haven't tried dunking it to test waterproofing though. I don't use the clip it comes with – instead I tied a loop of cord through the end so I can hang it up or hold it in my teeth. Very tough and well made. The battery it came with is still going strong. It's a lot of flashlight for just a little money.

The Gerber Infinity Ultra was my first LED flashlight. It is built OK, but it is one of the weakest and bluest lights I have. It is a few years old and there are better lights available now.

The $16 Streamlight Microstream is considerably thinner and shines much brighter and whiter. You can get 4 hours of full intensity light if you power it using an Energizer E2 lithium battery.

Hassilov, if you dont mind could you stick a pair of calipers around your light and measure the diameter? I've been looking for a clip for my L1T and you just gave me an idea!

I have several of the original CMG Task Lights, before Gerber made them a 3-piece design.

Got them for their burn time.

Gave each of my nephews in Scouts one with lithiums so they would have light all night for several nights should they get lost.

It's not a spotlight, but wasn't designed to be either, just a good reliable solid light.

I don't have calipers, but the ruler says it's 19 mm (3/4") in diameter.

I've got one and love it.

Like was said, its no spotlight, but I don't need one. I just want to find something in my pack at night, or in the tent. I don't need to spotlight a coon up a 100 foot sycimore tree.

I love the long run time, and it gives more than emough adaquite light for real world use. Very rugged built.

I also use the Gerber sonic as a pocket light while the Infinity lives in my daaypack. The sonic is also a nice edc light for finding your way around a dark house, looking for something under the car seat at night, and other real world use. Also has a long run time for it's little AAA battery.

Update... since I had my Gerber Infinity Ultra out to photograph for this thread, I decided to get a new lithium AA battery for it. I just popped it in now and it's twice as bright as before! Obviously the old alkaline battery was low on juice. The flashlight also feels lighter with the new battery.

Also, I found this review from a guy who explores caves. Looks like he puts it through hell:

It's a nice little light, with a smooth beam, that's just the right brightness for night navigation. I'm happy with mine.

However, the Fenix E01 has pretty much owned it in terms of all features, except beam shape. Much smaller size, longer runtime, lighter... and cheaper to boot.

I have one and several FENIX's( P1DCE, TK11) , but i have to say....the Gerb is bang for the buck, takes COMMONLY FOUND batteries and runs forever. If any light was a PSK light this is it.
