I offered to fix this knife for a friend, thinking of course I could figure it out, no problem.... well I am baffled. The knife locks into the closed position, but will not lock open. I was unable to remove the pivot, T6 is too small, T8 is too big, and T7 didn't fit either. I contacted Gerber, but no response yet, so I am trying here as well. I don't understand how the lock is meant to function. If anyone has any info, such as how the lock works, the model name, or advice regarding Gerber's warranty process, I would appreciate it.

A bunch of pics to try and show what's going on.

More more pics. Because I couldn't get the pivot off I was unable to remove the liner to really get in an tinker.

I removed my previous reply. One of your pics indicates torx pivot screw. I was going to suggest checking to see if it requires an allen wrench. Carry on...

Does anyone know a number to contact Gerber customer service over the phone?

It says on their website that their phone lines are temporarily closed.

My guess is that "temporarily" means "now, and for the foreseeable future".
