I have not opened 25 cans with this and poor quality steel is all I can blame here. Off to Golden , correction, off to Portland it gets mailed. Woof. I've carried mine since the late '90's, and have used that particular tool countless times, still solid. Hope they make good on it.

Now, the big flathead that I stupidly used as a pry/wrench 15 years ago, that gave out. I never replaced it, though, because it actually became more useful in its busted, stubby state.

I believe Gerber is in Portland. Spyderco and Coors is in Golden.
If you're in Golden, Coors and Spyderco are both well worth visiting, but if you hit Coors 🍺 first (and its elegant tasting room), be sure you have plenty of cash when you venture into Spyderco's fabulous factory store with that commemorative girder from 911. I never get out of there without dropping a couple hundred bucks. It would be more but I have to leave after drooling over the Randall display in the corner.

It will definitely still open a can of Coors.

I've had my Gerber multi-tool for 25 years and the only damage was one broken master clip that they send me a new one for and one screwdriver tip that was slightly melted during and electrical investigation.

What kind of cans? Ammo cans?

Interesting. I’ve used SAK can openers all my life, and their relatively soft steel has never had an issue. Maybe too hard ?

Mostly tuna or refried beans, I try and stay away from canned foods.

Looks like they "forgot" to heat treat and temper it.
I had one of their lockbacks with the same issue. "sharp" as a plastic butter knife, and could not hold even that obtuse edge.
I sent parts of it to the landfill over two months. No fear someone "rescued" it. (I also destroyed the blade.)
