Got this knife in a trade. She's pristine and hard to find BUT for the life of me can't get it sharp. Tried everything to the point I wanna just get rid of the knife. I feel like i'm ruining it if i just keep trying to sharpen it to no avail. I had my old smith arkansas stones i trued the soft that didn't work so went coarse then back to soft and that didn't work. Tried coarse in my falkniven DC3 to fine and that didn't work either. What should I do?

You may want to try a sharpening system other than stones. It may be that some time with a diamond rod will help.

If you're willing to cover shipping both ways, I'll give it a go for you if you want. If I can't get it sharp, I'll at least cover return shipping.

I'm just interested in handling and seeing the knife.

I have probably 12 different stone options (at least), a worksharp, belt grinder, and guided sharpener so it's rare I can't get at least a working edge on something, even poorly heat treated steel if that's actually the case. I prefer free-hand as I enjoy it much more.

Feel free to email me at the address in my signature or post on my profile and we can discuss what kind of edge you want.

No offense, but if you've been sharpening it as described, it's not a factory edge anymore, is it?
