Just thought I'd share this useful tool . I've had this for some time [ late 80's early 90's ? ] and it is an incredible asset in the woods . Depending on where youre going and for how long , the weight can be worth it , no doubt . I really have enjoyed using it . I dont remember what I paid for it but it was very reasonable and it has stood up against a good amount of use , especially the axe . The knife is good around the camp but I usually have it in the handle [ it secures with a magnet ] and use whatever other smaller knife I bring . Basically , I forget it's there half the time , but it's a good little fixed blade

Anybody else got one or something similar ? Theyre pretty cool

I've messed with one of these fiskars/Gerber hatchets that my cousin has and I found it to be mediocre. the handle was pretty uncomfortable compared to a wood handle, and I found that the bit profile split well but didn't chop too great.
I think you'd probably like a nice vintage hatchet better, but if you love this and it works well for you then that's great and I hope it continues to serve you well.

BTW I've heard of the knife falling out on people a lot while chopping, does this happen to you ?

Those became more popular after they stopped making them. Fiskars is decent quality. Some guys are looking for those sets now.
