Gerber LMF Edge Modification

I have a Gerber LMF 032172 that I am not happy with the edge. I also am not 100% sure on the steel for this blade but it may be 440-A. This is not the LMF II. This knife is about 7 years old.

I have never been happy with the cuting ability of this knife. Is there someone that can grind a better edge that would be good for this steel and not chip?

Has anyone had experience with te Gerbers and can recommend a good approach. The way the knife is today, I will never use it so I might as well try to improve on the edge.

thanks,

MD

I too have a Gerber LMF 034705 (5.75" blade) and use my Tormek followed by white rouge on a paper wheel. I use a 20° per side edge and am happy with edge retention. It does not get beat on too much, just normal wear and tear.
