gerber LMF handle disintegrating.

i took it out to whittle some wooden spears for my kids to play with.
This knife has never done anything more strenuous than that. For some reason the rubber handle material at the base of the blade is letting go. luckily i haven't used it to hammer anything ..yet.

Sounds strange...mine held up just fine for the time i had it. Ive heard Gerber has a pretty good customer service, try contacting them. They might be able to help you out.
