I don't know why, but the other day, I had the oddest urge to go out and buy a new knife ;)...problem was, I only had $25 on me. First place I went was my fave B&M store only to be dissapointed that I had everything within my allowance. Next place was to Walmart, same problem. On a whim, I went to Lohl's hardware to see what they had to offer. I pondered over a new slip joint, but after the incident with my Case Peanut the other day, I decided that I wanted a new lock back for now. I decided on the large version of the Gerber LST with a partially serrated blade. I've always liked how light and flat the LST models were but I just never bought one as they had never appealed to me. Now, with the knife in hand, I began to appreciate how great this little guy is. The LST is so light that I didn't even feel it in my pocket when my girlfriend and I went dancing that night. The fit and finish on my model are perfect, something that is uncommon in a "pricepoint" knife. The lock was rock solid with NO bladeplay in ANY direction, something very rare for a knife with a zytel handle. Last, but not least, the blade was a straight razor. Needless to say, I'm very pleaed. Has anyone else had good experiences with this knife or is mine an isolated incident?
Thanks,
Matt

Mine is great. I put it in a bag as a when-everything-else-fails knife. So light that I never notice it's there.

Due to the low weight, you can also put it on a ball chain and wear it around your neck.

I've also marvelled at the fit and finish. Perfect. Excellent deal for a $13 knife.

The LST was the first knife I gave my boys when they were old enough and in scouts. We all still have our original LST's. My one boy still goes camping with it. I am a real fan of em
Good Luck'

Don't forget the LST started the FRN/Plastic handled production knife frenzy. My first plastic handled knife was a Gerber LST Magnum.

Now that's a plastic handled knife that's strong.

At one time all my BDU shirts had a slit inside the front between the button holes where the fabric is doubled. An LST slid neatly into the seam and was always there if needed. I'm currently carrying the smallest version in with the change in my wallet.;)
