Hey everyone, was looking for some imput for a difficult choice. I'm looking to get a durable, good "combat" dagger. I'm looking at either the Gerber Mark 2 or a Boker M3 Trench Knife. I'm kinda undecided. I saw a stress test (by Cold Steel) for the Mark 2 where they stabbed through pork ribs, which caused one of the hilts to break off. That disappointed me, but I dunno if the test was rigged  On the other hand the specs for the Boker M3 say it is made in china, and I usually try to buy American made things... Seeing as theres no way to handle either of them before I buy, which one should I go for?? Which one is more durable? Thanks for any input.

Well, I don't own either, so this is just off the top of my head. For design, I like the Gerber Mark 2 better. However, for quality, Boker leaves Gerber in the dust. My 2 cents...

How are these knives? I haven't heard too many positives about the Applegate Daggers. I've yet to handle one, they look like they handles are a bit thick...

I have 2 of the Boker Applegate Daggers. I like them, and I like their handling features.
For actual use, I believe the M3 would be better than the Gerber.

I've owned quite a few production daggers over the past few years and the current Gerber Mark 2 is one of my favorites. Very good quality and the design is timeless
