Gerber Mark II Questions

Hi all, new to the group, lifelong edged weapon collector. I love the Gerber Mark II, L2 steel earlier gerbers. Lately I have noticed at least 3 knives with odd serial numbers. They list them as 11324, or 9526. I only have ever seen real Gerber's as 05654, or 011324 etc. What does the group think? Any explanations? Are these real of just great "fakes"? Doug

So, any opinions? Serial numbers without the 0 in front? Real of "fake" on the earlier models(l6 tool steel).

mine has the "0" FWIW but is a '71 model.

if ya google gerber mark 11 there is a website with all serial numbers listed by the year of manufacture, i used to have it but my PC crashed and i lost the info, if i had some time i'd look for ya,
