Ive been looking at the Gerber Metolius. I dont care for the sheath but the knife looks like its made well.

anybody have one or used one?

What do you think?

I found one for a steal recently. I hadnt' intended on buying one originally, but now I'm glad I did. Excellent build, very comfortable handle, sharp as any other knife I have, and a tough little knife, especially for the money!

Get one if you like the feel. You will be happy you did.

I thought it was junk so I sent mine back and got a refund. If you take it apart you will note the screw threads are barely there.
You will also see the "FRN" [I DOUBT IT IS REAL FRN] is constructed as if it is weak material ie it has bracing in the hollows, yes hollows! as in not full or solid! Add to that the fact that the steel is unknown and I would pass if I were you. The sheath is also a fail.

Are we still talking about a $20.00 knife...

It would appear so. I guess you could say that not everybody can afford the top of the line. And believe or not some of the cheaper knives do perform well such as Opinel and Mora, to name a few, and these two are talked about in these and other forums alot.

But I cant speak for the Metolius as I don't have one yet, but I may give one a try. :)
