i bought the gerber "mini fast-draw" on a whim at walmart, i have carried and used this knife everyday for a month now and it has held up great. it has great edge retention as well as a versitile blade shape. i find i use it more than any of the bigger knives i carry. it is spring assisted so it is an easy open. the handle is very comfy and the low ride pocket clip is great if u choose to use it. the lock up is solid but there is a small amount of blade play. the blade play does not bother to much because of the size of the blade. i have tested the lock extensivly, it will hold my weight (172 lbs) and still function properly.

Overall Length: 5"
Closed Length: 3"
Blade Length: 2.1"
Weight: 1.9 oz.

i bought one a few years ago and carried it everyday for more than a year, used and abused it and it performed excellently, i even had the damn thing on me when we went to OBX and carried it on me to the beach and even in the ocean, got gritty but a thorough cleaning and it was good to go! about 6 months ago i passed it onto my 12 year old son:D
regardless of some of the blanket statements about gerber not everything they produce is garbage
cheers

p.s. my freeman folder, hinderer rescue knife and the mini are three that are excellent and would recommend to anyone:thumbup:

I agree with both of you. I have the larger one with serrations on it and foind it to be a very handy knife. I've had mine for about a year. I used it on a 10 day camping trip recently and the only other tool neded for cutting was my Gerber hatchet.

I think Gerber makes some good stuff, especially when you take into consideration the prices.
