Should I get the Gerber mp600 with the carbide cutters or just get the non replaceable cutter ones ? I just want to have reliable cutters for any situation and not have them fail on me . I’ve heard the carbide breaks easy or did Gerber fix that ?

Welcome to the forums Josh.

I don't know about the Gerbers Tungsten Carbide cutters but if you expect you will be using them, it would make sense to get the replaceable ones. At the very least, you have 3 sides you can rotate. I have a LM wave and although I haven't used the cutters a lot, I haven't damaged them.

I did a quick search of mp600 and found there is only a few dollars difference between the various models. I'd go replaceable.

You might want to search the MT forum below for possible additional info.

I have the replaceable ones. They don't break unless you cut something that's too thick. If you don't abuse them, the carbide cutters are very durable.

What can they actually be used for ? Zip ties , small wire fences , cables ?
I have a pair and the cutter will break if you use on something a little to big , problem is you will not find out what is to big till they break, and are a pain to replace unless you have the proper size equipment

I have never worn out replaceable cutters, so that has been a moot point for me.

However, I have rolled non replaceable cutters to the point that the jaws seized up. Replaceable cutters offering a fix for that is worth it for me.
