Is there any experts on Gerber multitools out there.I have just bought a all Black Gerber tool marked Fiskars, but everything else is Gerber. Now I know Fiskars bought out Gerber ,but this is the first Multi tool I have seen marked Fiskars:thumbup:

Must be fairly new. I bought a gerber mp600 earlier this year and it doesn't say Fiskars. It seems to be holding up OK. Im just gonna use it 'till it breaks then get a swisstool.

Chuck. the Gerber tool has a number of patient pending numbers on the handle and the size of the tool looks like it might be the secind or third pattern made.

Hi Joe, welcome to the Multi-tool forum. Does your Fiskars/Gerber tool look like this one?

This tool is a bit over ten years old. As you noted earlier, Gerber is a division of Fiskars. After bringing out a small prototype run of their new "Multi Plier" to compete with the Leatherman PST, Gerber brought out this model in the early 1990's. At some point, they produced a limited number of tools with the Fiskars logo on them. And an even smaller quantity of tools were stamped Fiskars and given a black oxide finish. The stainless steel finished/Gerber logo tools from this era are still available by the dozens, but I've only seen a couple black Fiskars like yours.

Here is a Multitool you blokes might like to look at .Its a Australian Defence Force marked Victorinox Swisstool 3.0323.N:) It might come out big on the page, still learning.

Wow! That's a big picture.
Examining the knife blades (in super-magnified detail ;)) it doesn't appear as if your black SwissTool has seen much use.
Was it issued to you, or were you able to buy it second hand?

I bought 3 in a second hand shop , this one and 2 more still in the boxs,a good find.:D

Congrats! Sounds like you hit the jackpot on that deal!

(I think I paid around to $70 for my black SwissTool.)
