Hello,

Anyone have any experience with the Nautilus? Saw one, and wanted to buy it, but decided to have a look on the 'Net to see if there are any reviews. From what little I could dig up, I haven't heard anything good. Any comments?

Got one, can't say I'm happy with it. Shoulda known better...

It's lightweight, but really too big for what it does. Even more so than I feared when I bought it.

The rubbery grips feel nice, but make it a bear to get in or out of the crappy nylon sheath that comes with it.

The tools are typical Gerber: rough "satin" finish, everything's short and stubby, and DAMN those Fiskars scissors suck eggs. And what was I thinking, buying a multitool with no pliers??

I didn't get a chance to check out the light in a dark room before I bought it, and when I did, I found that it's not really very bright. The $12 Photon on my keychain does about as well.

I've tried to use the secondary light to illuminate what I'm cutting, like the marketing dreck says it's designed for, but it doesn't work all that well.

Speaking of the light, it's waaaay too easy to turn the light(s) on inadvertantly. Especially while trying to wrestle it in or out of the sheath (see above)...

The "switchblade" mechanism to deploy the light is neat, maybe too neat. My GF's son won't stop playing with it, and now the hinge is a bit loose.

Oh, it's also waaaay too easy to hit that "switchblade" button, too.

What can I say? I had a bad case of Multi-Tool Fever when I got it. Can't be right all the time! ;)
