Gerber Outdoorsman axes

I recently bought a mini Gerber axes from Cabelas thats only 9" long.It's made in Finland and very light weight.I noticed Cabelas no longer sells the 9" model.Has anybody had any experience with the Gerber hatchet/axe?There sure not much plastic handle material holding the axe head to the handle.
