I have just received a pristine mint Gerber Parabellum, and know nothing about the knife. I would like to know when it was made, discontinued, material used in it and possible value. I have the original box it came in also. Thanks.

Don't know of collector's value, but you have a pretty nice, heavy duty folder there. Rock solid construction and lock. Blade is 440A.

Danbo you live in Belleville ,Ill. Small world I was born there. Anyway, I was just curious there's not much on the web about it. If you can tell me anymore I'd appreciate it.:)

I doubt if there is much collector value. You might check ebay to see what they've sold for.

I had one. Heavy duty good quality knife with a dual carry sheath that was well before its time.

In the end I found it too big for an EDC folder and a fixed blade to be a better trail knife.

My advise is if the knife fits your needs use it.

You want more info? Ok, here goes. It's big; it's heavy duty; the blade is pretty decent stainless that sharpens up easily and holds an edge fairly well. The knife will last someone longer than they live. Oh yeah, they don't make em anymore. Haven't made them for several years. They used to come with 2 styles of sheaths. One was a simple nylon snap pouch and the other had a fancy swivel feature. I think they were about $100 new when Cutlery Shoppe used to sell them.

A mint Parabellum was the hardest knife ever for
me to find. I finally found one on E=bay at a
hefty price. Well, If ya want's ta play ya gotta
pay so I bought it and I'm darn glad I did.

This knife is way ahead of it's time as a light
woodsman's / survival knife. To bad Gerber didn't
just stick a thumb stud on it for the young
flippers and keep making it.
