Gerber Paraframe Question

Hey yall,

I have an older Gerber Paraframe I, Fine edge, silver color that I have a question about. It's an older model, 2004 I believe, was made in the US and has a stainless steel handle. I recently broke the pocket clip off, by a chance encounter with the side of a desk. I contacted Gerber multiple times for a replacement pocket clip, and they sent me the wrong clip...twice. There is a different bolt pattern on the newer model Paraframes, thus causing the discrepancy. Does anyone know where I might be able to purchase a new clip for the old style of Paraframe?

as far as the paraframe goes it may be cheaper to buy yourself a replacement paraframe or something comparable, just buy the best you can afford :)
the knife functions without the clip so no need to toss it but ya cant go wrong with more knives:thumbup: Gerber takes a beating on here sometimes but if you like them who cares. I'm a big fan of my gerber freeman, gerber fastdraw and Gerber hinderer:thumbup:
cheers
ivan

Welcome to Bladeforums!

I have to agree with IVANKERLEY. Paraframes are going for under $20 online. Cheaper to buy a new knife than to fix this one. Try a Byrd or a KaBar Dozier. Better steel at a similar price point.

Unless you are really attached to the knife you can always buy a new one and use the old one for a tackle box or something to keep in the car, I mean it's just the pocket clip that's broke right? We sell them at work for about 20 some odd dollars.

I have 3 possible suggestions.
1. Send the old clip into Gerber if you still have it so they can compare it to the ones they have, or send a picture of it to them.
2. Send the knife in to them. The negative to this would be is they may replace the knife with a new one and if you are attached to the old one that may not be suitable.
3. Go over to STR's knife repair and modification subforum and see if he can fix up a clip for it.
