Gerber Paul model 2PW with no stamp?

I have an old Gerber Paul 2PW in a sheath. It looks
Like it has nothing stamped in the spacer between the scales. I thought the production years were numbered 1-8? Any thoughts? Thanks!

The blade on mine is a little wobbly side to side when locked open, oh well. Fun knife for fidgeting. Got it on cuttingedge.com (a.g. russell)
