i just bough one that we received at work as a clearance price of $26.50 i like the LMF series just that they are about $100 and i dont need a knife that big, and i saw the Prodigy in an issue of tactical knife along with the Yari 2, but i was mainly interested in the Prodigy cause its a nice sized knife, and when i was doing an inventory count with the gerbers and saw the words combat survival knife- prodigy and was interested opened it and liked it and saw the price above and so i bought it today for about $22.95(%20 discount).

First Gerber i have bought, i have 2 as gifts that where given to me, never really liked Gerber but i like their hunting and combat knives.

I'd give it a shot myself if Gerber did away with the :barf:serrations:barf:. They seem to ruin a lot of their good knives with those useless :barf:serrations:barf:.

The serrations are what broke the deal for me on the LMF II. Where did you get the prodigy for that price? For $25 I wouldnt mind getting one.

i work at a sportsmans warehouse in round rock texas and we received them at that price so i jumped on one the next day i hand picked the knife and sheath from the 4 remaining ones

I've had a Prodigy for about 3 weeks now. I'm not fond of serrations either but they don't seem to be a hinderance to what I've used the knife for so far. In fact, they have probably helped. Enjoy your Prodigy.

I too found the Prodigy on sale last month at Sportsman's WH. Only payed $25 or so. Already had 2 LMF II's and was very pleased with them and their many uses. and hell, you cant beat a positive reveiw of a deployed S.E.A.L !

Today i stopped in to my local S.W.H. and found the Yari II for sale in the reduced price bin, couldnt believe my luck!! MSRP is $212, the in-store price was $149.99, and the sale price was $75 !!!

I collect military style knives and I specialize in some of the better quality Gerber knives and tools. I dont really like to collect "Eye-Candy" knives, i'm into User knives.

Couldnt do better for the money. Ive had mine for 2 or 3 years. never let me down. and bear grylls has even used this knife. its his knife in his newest episodes. he beats the crap outa the knife and it preforms amazingly still. bowchicawowwow of a knife.

Gerber has been around for along time.I have several older ones, that are twenty five years old they are still going strong.I could care less about the mystery steel that seems to bother some, because my Gerber's are working knives.Would I buy another one yes.I do have a Gerber Profile that has been used hard to split wood for camp fires.I have been rough on my Gerber's.I keep them sharp and ready for use.If someone never has to sharpen his knife it is because he is not using it.
