i just bought the gerber "ridge" money clip knife. i took it to work and put it through the paces. cardboard, plastic straps, opening boxes ect. took it outside (box says good for outdoors and camping) works like a champ. it is chisle ground so it sets right on the handle. little hard to grip on account of the handle style but works great. cuts like a V-grind and would do well in any pocket at work or in the woods. blade takes and holds an edge that was still shaving sharp after all the cutting, and it did alot of cutting. i would compare the edge retention to a hair less than a buck 110. now that aint bad for 13.95 at walmart:D

Every time I go into Walmart I consider getting one of those, but always walk out with something esle sharp.

I had one that I really liked.

Then one night while it sat on the table with the rest of my edc gear the lock snapped. Just snapped.

I emailed gerber and they said to send it in.

Got a new one in the mail and the new one has held though all sorts of cutting.

I like it.

They are neat little knives. But for the long haul as a user you probably have to keep on it. I bought two on the bay used, one slightly and the other severely. I tinker with knives a lot so I went to work on them.

The slightly used one touched right up. The beater went to the belt sander and then the garbage can. Once the blade had the tip worn down by the original owner, any attempt to make it right removed too much steel.

As a hard use EDC, it might be good for a year. As an occasional, low profile user, it seems to be a great little knife.

isnt it identical to the CRKT kiss?

If it's similar to the Gerber Trendy, watch out. On the Trendy, the more you use it, the blade has a tendency to not close against the liner fully. After a while, it starts snagging on pockets and fingers.

They might have fixed this on the Ridge, seeing as it looks to be a chisel grind. Still, it doesn't even have the partial scale to keep the edge from snagging somewhere.
