Unforunetly, where I live I can't take any of my double edged knives to a local cultlery store to get sharpened. If I wanted to send my Mark II back to Gerber will they sharpen it?

My personall suggestion is to purchase a quality sharpening stone and learn freehand sharpening with less expensive blades (Im sure you have some plain edged kitchen knives around that could use a touchup) After a lot of practice you'll get a feel for keeping proper angles and such. Sharpening your own knives is much more satisfying than having someone else put an edge on for you

I know hot to sharpen free hand... I just don't want to accidently scratch the blade since it is a collectors item. I tried with another Mark II before and scratched it.

About 6 months ago, I was looking over the GERBER, actually FISKARS website.
They mentioned that you could send any GERBER knife back to them and have it re-sharpened for a very reasonable charge. I sure that it was well under $10. or so.
And....I wouldn't trust some cutlery shop to sharpen a knife of this caliber, especially with the serrations on the blade.
Who knows best to renew an edge, other than the manufacturer?
Do a search under Fiskars and you should come up with their site!

This one doesn't have serrations. It's a gray handle wasp and It's one of my prized pieces. I did actually check out the Gerber site and it said it is nine dollars to sharpen double edge. Do you know if I can send a check for $9 or does it have to be a money order?

Nicky...if you decide to send your Gerber to them for sharpening, just enclose a money-order along with the knife to cover the charge.
I would not let anyone other than Gerber do the work!
