Gerber TAC ll question

Any Gerber experts?
What’s the chrome alignment pin story? Mines lose, and spins like a cap on a shaft. Is that normal?

That "pin" is to secure the knife in the scabbard. The pin goes through one of the holes in the guard and catches on the rim. Then you nudge/push the pin down to free the knife. I don't know if the pin is supposed to spin freely.
