Can't find any pertinent info here on the forum cuz i'm a cheapskate basic member, but I picked up a yari 2 new for under 70$. I know Gerber is a so-so name 'round these parts, but it seemed a good fix for my blade jones. Anyone else have an opinion, i.e. quality, performance, etc?

I picked up 2 for about the same price as a closeout at the local Sportsman's Warehouse. One tanto and one clip point. I love the S30V steel. Also like the made in USA. The fancy tactical sheath system is OK. Seems like a high performance knife at a great price. Don't know why they were being blown out, maybe Gerber tarnished their good name with the cheap Fiskars crap and can't get anyone to buy a good knife from them anymore. I judge each knife on it's own merits, just like I do with people.

Yeah, I got mine at Sportsman's Warehouse too. Half off closeout plus a 10% store sale made for too good a deal to pass up. It was such an impulse buy, though, that I questioned it later. Overall, seems a solid knife, so I am quite happy with it. 'Course, I haven't abused it...yet.

Yeah, that's why I bought both the Tanto and the Spear Point.
