Hello guys ,
I am considering a gerber yarin in 154 cm steel. Would this be a good knife ? Will the 154 cm steel hold an edge for a reasonable while ?

The Gerber YARI is what I think you are talking about. The knife is nice I just got mine last week. As for edge holding 154cm is very good. It is basicly the american made version of ATS-34. It is a good all aroundsteel and keeps its edge well. It think it would be a good choice.

the yari kicks ass. fantastic knife for less than 100 bucks.
 
The Yari knife is much better than the sheath, but an excellent knife for the money.
