We all know Gerber's reputation. Having said that, these little zipper replacements are so ingenious IMHO.
Here is mine. Not the sharpest "blade" but I'll tell you what..it gets the job done ripping open boxes, string, light rope ..etc.

Love mine and highly recommend.
It's a liner lock, hard to open with my soft nails.
Anyway. My thoughts on this great little knife/survival tool.

I had one for a few weeks.
Gave it away for free on the forum one time I think with a knife purchase.
Cool little things.

However, like you said smart idea to have on a jacket or something. Didnt think of that.

It looks like a Roebuck screwdriver and a Chinese slip joint.

I've got the Sears tool but what is the one to the right?

I have one. I don't use it much. It seems a bit awkward to open and close. For being a small blade, it is on the thick side. I had to rebevel it to make it cut to my liking.

I think that a Spyderco Bug would be a better zipper pull.

Ric.

Bummer you Bug got stolen. They are good knives. I use one of the small s beiners (Niteze) to attach it to my key ring, that way it is easy to detach for use or cleaning if need be.

I've got one of those craftsman and a vintage Cole brand one, but none work as well as the Swiss quarto driver that I keep around my neck ( believe it or not I use mine almost every other day )
On my zipper I keep one of these 1$ zipper pull lights that I blue a bunch of .the switch is kinda hard to operate , but that just means it won't come on accidently. And it really is the bare minimum of lightning probably only 1 lumen. I like the Gerber zip blade, but I also think the bug would be better ( I just wish I could find them in stores because I don't really like to order stuff of line )

I find it hard to find any Spyderco products in stores.
I think Bass Pro Shops has them.
Then again, they are spread out pretty good.
We have one 25 miles from us :-)

I like the idea of it a lot. A knife that size can be almost shockingly handy. I've stayed away, though, because, well, Gerber.

I'm not a huge Gerber fan either but love this little thing.
Have to admit, it is pretty hard to open.
Bent my thumb nail back a few times.
It should not be that hard to open.

its a sneaky way to store a small blade. I wonder if TSA would even notice it on a backpack going through the x ray machine.

I don't have the knife, but I have the hex driver from that line. They're all cool little pieces of gear.

As for it being Gerber, give me a break. What do you think it's going to do? Fly apart and kill somebody?
