I want a gerber gator folding clip point knife and i have a question about the model numbers. The two knives look exactly the same but one is cheaper. they have different numbers does anyone know if these knives where ever made in china? i really want one made in portland.
 
I have never had a bad gerber knife. as long as its made in oregon. seriously never had any problems but everyone else seems to hate them.

Do you have the model numbers? they do make a Gerber gator mate, which is smaller than the gator it's usually a few dollars cheaper. I have a Gator and love it, It's one of my favorite outdoors/bushcraft folders:)
 
My friend carried a gerber gator when he was in the army. He only had good things to say about it.
