Please educate me on the history of these. I’ve looked, but can’t really find much.

Where and when did they start? Who currently owns the company? Quality and F&F? Types of steel used? Ways to indicate age/variation?

Thanks in advance. I am here to listen and learn.

I can't tell you much other than the fact that they were obviously made in solingen Germany, now I believe they're owned by James A Frost and made in China.
The price on currently made ones is way too low to be coming from Germany.

I have a Sodbuster of theirs in Stag. OK construction but the stainless blade seems rubbish and won't take an edge of any use. However, the Stag slabs are very nice indeed and I'll use them for a re-handling project at some time. I've no idea about the actual origins of these knives, but I think Bull could be an operative word...;):D

I can echo Will's experience. My German Bull sodbuster cost very little, has poor steel and mediocre quality of construction but exceptional stag. It is the only one I own.

I guess the lack of good information here on the forums would probably be very telling as well. I searched best I could, only to come up with very little. Thank you for the input.

I'm fairly sure the German Bull knives that actually were made in Germany came from the Friedrich Olbertz factory. Now, probably China.

Any way to tell, identifying markings or materials/build type?

As you can see, the stag's very nice. But the steel.....crude tang-stamp and the other side reads GERMAN STAINLESS Hand Made
