I bought one today, I could not pass it up for the price, 22.00 bucks shipped for a stag Drs. knife. In looking around one add said they are made in the same factory as Buck Creek. Does anybody own any German Bulls and want to comment on the quality. Any info appreciated. Thanks.

I've been curious to try one of those and Buck Creek too.

I'm no expert , but from what I've read and heard on one of those shopping channels, the German Bull and Hen & Rooster brand names are owned by Frost Cutlery. So it's probably a good bet that those at least are made in the same factory. Frost probably has different levels of quality and I'm pretty sure Hen & Rooster is at the top of their German line-up.

I recently started buying a few Hen & Rooster knives and do like the quality overall, but like most things made today they aren't quite as good as the German knives I remember as a kid.

Let me know your impression of the German Bull knife when you get it, they have a few patterns that look pretty good.

All three brands are made by Frost Cutlery. I have both Hen & Rooster and Buck Creek. Buck Creek is a little cheaper in price, but still a nice knife. To me the German Bull brand sells more of the Frost Cutlery style knives. Here is a link to the Range Rider. It is basically a stockman, but I have one or two Frost Cutlery Range Riders made years ago from Japan & Pakistan. I think now the regular Range Riders are made in China. It looks like the knives have 440 steel, most probably 440A. Notice they are sold as Frost Cutlery German Bull knives, not German Bull knives.

I own a german bull lockback, good looking knife.I got it as a christmas gift,I sharpend it up and used it light duty a couple of times, but I hate to say the blade has developed lots of play, rather easily.

I have only had that one,so maybe it was just a bad one.

Best of luck with yours STDK

Thanks for the replies everyone. I got an e-mail today saying it is on the way so it should be here the first of next week. I'll give it an honest month long test and report back on here my findings. If it don't work out I will clean it up and make it my "Church" knife it should at least be sheeple friendly.
