German DGM Camp tool hatchet

My Dad had one of these when I was a kid (I lost the dang thing playing with it in the yard).

Just wondering if anyone knew anything about the background of these things. They were sometimes sold along with a bowie knife with a combined sheath. I think Puma made/sold them, back in the 50's/60's

Deutsche Gebrauchsmuster
In German and Austrian patent law, the Gebrauchsmuster (GebrM), also known as the German utility model or Austrian utility model, is an intellectual property right similar to a patent that protects inventions.

They were used by the Germans in WWII.

But on this forum there are several great experts on the subject. Someone will soon bring more information.

On Ebay there are several ads for around 150 to 300 dollars.

I bought mine for less than 150 USD, out of a guy in Bulgaria. He may have more than one as that top picture was in his ad.
