Greetings,

This is my first post here, and probably the first of many.

I have come into possession of my father in law's knife collection, and I don't know much about knives at all.

Armed with a couple of good knife books and the Internet, I am off to a good start identifying the knives and determining the respective values.

So far, the makers include:

Fight'n Rooster
Case
Parker
Ruana
Tru-Bal (Bowie Axe)
K. Hara
Stephen Hill
Frosts (Mora, Sweden)
Ulster
Kissing Crane
Remington
Queen Steel

And a few more, mostly custom knives, or German knives.

These others are what bring me here.

I start with this knife:

The mark on the tang appears to be "P|C 555"

There are no other stamps on the blades. The etching on the blade is that of an Eagle with two swords, one in each talon, and a spear in it's mouth.

This knife has a counter-part which is the same size, shape, and has the same blades. The only difference is this knife is yellow, smooth, and has a different shield.

Any help in identifying this knife is greatly appreciated.

And yes, after ten attempts I have determined that this is in fact, the last user name.

Welcome to BladeForums. Can't help ya' with that one but someone will probably be along shortly that can.I'm thinking the rather large size of the knife, while appealling to me personally, might be detrimental to a collector for several reasons which someone else can better explain.Or I may be completely wrong. :)

Well, I have to say that part of me is hoping that it isn't worth much of anything, because this knife just feels great in my hand. It's very solid and has a good weight, if that makes sense.

An added note: I don't think that this knife or the other one like it has ever been sharpened.

I see. There are so many forums here, I wasn't sure where to put this, being a novice and all. I thought that the BRLevine forum was for identifying BRLevine knives or something like that, but now that I've actually read it, I figured it out.

I'll post it there after I get home from work. I have to rescan the image due to the red background (tan or white is required apparently.)

Hell, maybe I'll just go ahead and post it there. Perhaps he'll forgive a one time red background...

I believe PIC is Precise International, a German import. I have a stag-handled fixed blade from them.
