Hi everyone, I need your help.

My brother in law lives in the US. He is as much as a gear/knife/edc nerd as I am.

We both send each other nice gifts for our birthdays, but actually I start to run out of ideas...

So far I've gifted him a SAK, a small flashlight and a telemeter dogtag. All are European made and high quality

Now, I need your help: Is there any small tool, EDC item or anything I can send over that isn't from the US but you'd actually like?

I am very aware that most of the good stuff is from the US, and I just don't want to send over a Böker knife as this would be quite disingenuous...

My budget is around 100bucks give or take.

Any ideas?

Things that pop in my mind at first:

W3rktrieb: custom SAK scales

Ottermesser: nice old world slip joint knives

Ondura durable goods: artisan leather goods

Honestly, keep with the Swiss Army Knife theme. There are so many models to choose from, and relatively inexpensive.

I would be thrilled with a SAK from my BIL every year. 🤣

Au Sabot do some lovely "regional" French knives in Sandvik.

I've also just purchased the TBS Boar folder, a chunky little EDC but really nice, it's a UK company but I suspect the knives are made by Joker.

Docter/Noblex or Zeiss Turmon monocular. I got the Docter and love it...they're both out of production but can be found on the secondary market.

What about scales for the SAK?

There is Daily Customs from Hamburg, Germany. They produce everything in their shop and the stuff is high quality (and appropriately expensive). In case you like the idea, you should check if they have scales for the model you gifted.

Thank you all, these are some fantastic inspirations. :) I actually need to check some Ideas for myself, especially the SAK scales from Daily Customs!

For his upcoming birthday I'll go with the following:

1x Knipex Corbra in 150mm - Made in Germany and quite coveted here.
1x Tasmanian tiger tac pouch - Made in Germany as well
1x Otter 3 Nietenmesser - Räuchereiche - Solingen (going to pick it up there by myself)

For Christmas it's going to be one of of those Lionsteel Knives, need to check which one:)

And in case you don't know them yet: check out wndsn navigation tools - they really have some nice low tech high quality stuff
