it wont open all the way or even close all the way withount hiting the butt of the knife extreamly hard. is there anyone who has fixed this problem?

could be too much gunk in the joints, maybe check the channels for anything in the way, maybe they've been rust locked

ps. if your phone and computer has bluetooth, you can send pics that way, then load onto an online site like photobucket, and use the image tab in these texts boxes to post

If your talking about the gravity knife with the lever you push to operate and has the folding spike on the side, then this type of knife is designed to take it apart for cleaning. Could just be some dirt in it. There is a "button' just past the front of the knife to do this. If you don't want to try that, try spraying WD 40 into the opening and wait for it to soak in then spray again and try operating the blade in and out to loose up the dirt. If it's a different type, sorry I only have seen the one style.
