Germantown tool works?

I picked up a small carpenters hatchet marked GTW. My first thoughts and my dad's suggestion was grand trunk western. But after a little research it appears to be German town tool works. Dies anyone know how long they were open for or hope common or rare their axes and tools are. Any and all info appreciated.

I don't know anything about the company. I see various hatchets and other small tools like hammers occasionally but never any big axes so far. The hatchet I have has a real nice factory polish and is a high quality tool.

Most likely Germantown. Small outfit outside of Philly, i thought bought out by Plumb.

Interesting, I bought a few axe heads because the quality of metal seems to be decent. What are you're thoughts? I paid 7$ Per hatchet and all have handles. I figured the price would be hard to be and the quality of the steel seems superior to what's at the big box stores.
