hey guys i want to get a convexed edge on my cold steel recon scout
but i dont how please help

I reprofiled my SRK using a file to cut the bevel back, as the original edge was too thick for my taste, then honed 'backwards' (rather than stroking edge-forward). Do a search on this forum; there have been several excellent posts on how to sharpen convex edges.

This is how I did my Ka-Bar 1217.
People have been doing it for many years with files. Mousemat & sandpaper coupled with a good belt sender will make it easier, but it can still be done with a file and proper technique

Hey bro,

I did a video on how to sharpen convex edges and put it up on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbOvbht5z_A I just convexed a couple of my other beveled edges last week doing it exactly like I do in the video. The mousepad trick is very good. I usually go from 220 to 2500 in these steps...220, 400, 500, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500 and then hit the compounds on loaded leather. You only need about 5-10 swipes on both sides with each step. When you practice it enough, it will be a snap to convex an edge in 20 minutes while catching up on the evening news.

Hope this helps you out.:thumbup:
