I always liked these, but found them near impossible to do a good sharpening on.

That's actually a lineman's knife, they intentionally kept the points dull on those. Definitely works for all those other tasks though. Nice find.

I've found they don't work as well if you do a good sharpening on them. They work much better with a very coarse edge. Spyderco SharpMaker with diamond rods works wonders.

I put a #5X40TPI Helicoil in the R/H bolster and counterbored the L/H bolster to accept a #5 cap screw. The blade is an old style Selector Hawk Bill.
