Hi folks,

A bunch of us are going to get together Saturday, September 1st, at 5:00pm at Vito's Pizza in Sunnyvale. Bring knives! These get-togethers are usually a blast, so try to make it if you can.

Directions to Vito's Pizza, Sunnyvale:

From 101, take Lawrence Expressway south a couple of miles, make a right onto Reed, Vito's is on your right.

From 280, take Lawrence Expressway north a couple of miles, make a left onto Reed, Vito's in on your right.

We will be in the private room off to the right. The room is free, so I ask that we all help pay Vito's bills by buying pizza, coke, and beer, or throw in to tip the wait staff.

Vito's has the closest to NY-style pizza I've found in the bay area, and the regular pizza is excellent. For some bizarre reason, the Sicilian pizza is not as successful, and I don't recommend it. The meatball parm sandwiches are excellent. The sausage sandwiches are good, but the sausage itself does not have enough of the distinctive Italian sausage taste.

See you there!

Joe

Hey Joe,

Thanks for posting this message!

Randy even notified BAKCA members at last night's meeting about this gathering; looks like it will be a good one.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

So how often do you do this?
I live in the Bay Area, but will
be out of town that weekend. Is this
a semi regular thing? Or am I SOL?

Seems to be a semi-regular event.

There were a couple of these gatherings in the south bay and a couple in San Francisco. Seems to be about every 3-5 months depending on who calls one and who can come.

Since you're in Pleasanton, you might also want to catch a Bay Area Knife Collector's Association (BAKCA) meeting held the second Tuesday of every month at 7:30pm in Fremont:

Also, let us not forget the San Francisco Knife Show. September 29-30 at Rickey's Hyatt in Palo Alto. Information is on the BAKCA site.

Oh fine, I see how it is now...

I send one private email to the Harvster suggesting that when I'm up visiting my wife in San Jose around the 1st, that the three of us get together to talk about knives over beer and pizza, and it turns into a Knife-Beer-Pizza fest for the masses!

Well, you know what I say to that don't cha..."The more the merrier!" :D :D :D

Vito's at 5PM it is then! I'll bring whatever anyone wants to see in a standard RMK, but I think my trading stock is limited to a Tom Clinton DS, and, and...heck, I dunno, that stuff in the pictures I sent out. If ya have any RMK's ya wanna trade, bring them too.

I know Edna has a new RMK mini #3 that she'd like to trade for a mini #1 or as a partial on a mini #25, so she may bring that too. (Sorry guys, she's not for trade...yet) ;)

(and of course I'll be bringing my "mankey", cuz he lick to praty wit dem other mankeys too...lol)

See ya there folks, bring cash, books, knives, smiles, mankeys, and anything else that turns you on! :)

Pizza, Beer, (or soda's), Knives, and cool folks...sounds like a a real kick! "Woohoo"

email here if ya wanna work out sumpin' before the "Meet and Greet"

M-P:

My apologies. I am really not one for crowds either, but we had such a great time with the bunch that showed up last time we did this that, well, it'll be a lot more fun than sittin' around with just me, I guaranty it.

See everyone there!

Just Curious...

This Pizza place doesn't have a problem with a bunch of knife knuts fondling sharp pointy things in public view?

If So, they've got my business!!

Most certainly they should have your business anyway, as they're the closest this area has to NY-style pizza!

We're in a little room of our own, so no one else will see us fondling our sharp pointy things. Ah, don't read too much into that last statement :)

No worries Steve,

I get along better in crowds...it seems to help ease my quick getaways...lol

Besides, I like placing faces with names, it's much more theraputic at the indoor range that way... ;)

Besides, "Beer and Pizza...and knives", what could possibly be more American that that combination?

I'll be there, would like to meet my fellow bay area knife nuts. Or so I think...

How about us guys from the valley and foothills? I know were not Bay Area but were close.:D...Looking forward to meeting all of you, hope I can make it. Beer and Pizza and Knives...Oh My!

Livermore checking in...I'll be there! Looking forward to meeting everybody and checking out our sharp toys!:D I grew up down there. I remember when that Pizza place was a skating rink and the Santa Clara side of the expressway was Jefferson Junior High School! Guess that dates me!
