The Scrapyard still has plenty of new dogs looking for kennels if you are interested !!!:D

Just in case there is some confustion, there are knives shown on the Scrapyard "Knives" webpage that are not for sale.

There are only 3 models for sale at Scrapyard just now on the Scrapyard "Order" webpage. Those three models are:

YARD GUARD, Price: $119.95

YARD HOOK, Price: $119.95

SCRAPPER 6 LE, Price: $139.95

The poor coordination between what is (or is not) shown and what is actually available or for sale is unfortunately one of the ongoing characteristics of the Busse, Swamp Rat, Scrapyard websites.

IMHO they have the best knives, but incredibly sloppy web practices. I recognize that a different skill set is needed for each. I just wish they would apply the same conscientious, comprehensive, & stringent standard to coding their websites that Jerry, Jennifer, & Dan are applying to the hyper-tough engineering, testing, and construction of their knives.

Oh well, better to be disappointed in their websites than in their knives. ;) :D

Keep 'em sharp!

It certainly is a convoluted system. Mostly it gets your hopes up, only to frustrate them. Nonetheless, the knives make the hurdles worthwhile.

And, even though it is shown on the order knives page, the Scrapper 6 le is unavailable as of right now.(was just there and tried to order one). To be honest though, I love the knives, and I think the whole web thing is just part of the marketing plan. The more frustrated people get trying to get these knives, the more valuable they become (esp in secondary market), and they continue to sell knives as fast as they can be made. Believe you me, if the Busse family thought that the web practices were costing them money, they would fix the "problem" since it isn't fixed, then we have to assume it isn't costing them any money.

I agree. In fact, I think it makes them money, because it instills in the customer the reaction Oh my X is available now! I better buy it while I can, because next time I look it won't be here. It doesn't actually leave much room to ponder the purchase. The system on the Busse site itself, despite the long wait, is preferable IMO. At least you have some time to ponder if and what you actually want. Even if you have to wait months to get it once you decide.

World class knives. Web amateurs. It's a shame.

"Time is money." If someone makes it too hard and time consuming for me to make a purchase, I move on. There are always other options and I've got too many other things to do. - - -

Which is why these are so valued on the secondary market and also why I feel so good when I do bag one !!!
