Just finished up a set of curly maple grips for my 1911.
Next I want to do a set out of some nice Ironwood, but as curly maple is much cheaper, I did a set of that first to practice.

Lookin good, ive gotta get another one so I have a reason to make some more grips. Have some cocobolo on the guy I have now.

I recently saw a set of ornately carved ivory grips for a model 1911. Too bad I don't own one... I'd have snapped those grips up in a heartbeat.

What? You mean that you only buy for guns you have? That is darn right un-American, I currently have two sets of iron wood grips and a set of ivory that are waiting for homes. Now to convince my wife that not using them is a waste so I need to buy more guns! Steven

Yeah, well, I am glad someone has faith in me on this:D. She hates the fact that I buy things that "have no purpose". Steven
