gettin new knifes. wanting opinions

The spyderco Kiwi ss model can be found for just under $50 at some places. Only thing is that it has no clip. The CRKT Montana is another one I've considered and it too is just a tad over 50.

NO! Don't risk your fingers by buying junk like that.

I have to agree! Good quality for $3.50?..... I honestly hope you're joking!

If one of my friends gave me that as a gift, I'd use it as a really fancy paper-weight..... Save your $$$ & your fingers!

Bump:

another knife im considering. http://www.selfdefenseproducts.com/rigidlockbacks.htm (the silver one on the right with the serated back and drop tip) it looks wicked awesome and is very cheap but is it of good quality?

If you are lucky, this POS will just fall apart in your hand, but if you are not, you will also lose your fingers. There are many good folders under 30 dollars, try one of those instead. Benchmade Pika, Benchmade Monocrome, Buck Hilo, Buck Mantis, Spyderco Byrd line, Ka-Bar Dozier etc. etc.

Man, I can't think of the model, but the benchmade with the wood/carbon fiber is a nice looking , good sized gents style knife. Think they're an Elishiwitz (sp), and discontinued. But they are great knives. Blue liners too. Might be costly due to discontinuation.

The model is the 690. Just saw one but it was taxed big time. Limited edition though.

Benchmade 690.

Ontario is an other manufacturer. Maybe it's on par with the classic Ka-Bar or Camillus models. I've never used the Ontario one, just the Camillus, but looks like a good, usable knife.

didnt expect to loose fingers. just thought it looked good, the blade style i mean. the site its on usualy only sells decent quality stuff and have sells on good items.

Buy whatever you like, but don't forget; you get what you pay for.

thats true. the reason im stronly wanting this one http://www.yukonbay.com/products/item.asp?item=4210604 is because its about perfect for what i want, i want one side straight edge and the other side serated, i really hate split knives but want one that has both so thats best for me. its fixed blade and solid steel all the way through the handle plus the blade is under 5 1/2" inches which is max for my states laws. only thing i would change is make the tip tonto but other than that its probably my perfect knife, only thing im not sure is quality, if its good quality which i would consider ka-bar is if thats what it is or if its not too great of steel

It's not serrated, it has sawteeth on it's back. Not quite the same. Thay make poor work on wood and make the blade weaker.
...its fixed blade and solid steel all the way through the handle....

No, it's not. It has a stick tang.

...only thing i would change is make the tip tonto but other than that its probably my perfect knife...

Here you go, full tang Ka-Bar with tanto point and the blade is shorter than 5.5. Isn't really expensive either: http://www.knifecenter.com/kc_new/store_detail.html?s=KA1462
