Ok, for the money which would be the best buy.

Jetbeam Jet i pro IBS for $40

Nitecore EX10 for $50

4sevens Quark 123 for $46

These are the prices I can get them at, but am undecided. The Jetbeam is v1 the new ones are at v3, it is not used though. The Quark is the XP-E led and the Nitecore is the ramping version.

Which is the best deal? Kind of leaning towards the Quark but idk if it is as tough as the other two.

Everyone voting for the most expensive :( lol. I think I am gonna go for the jetbeam just seems like a really good deal even if it is an older model than the others. Also AA is kind of an advantage but then again I could get a D10 instead of EX10 hmmmmmm. If anyone wants to know where I'm finding these prices pm me I will try to help you out.

With the quark you could always get a spare body. Thats my setup anyway. Quark123 with a spare AA body in my bag for emergencies.

My old EDC light was a nitecore ex10 in Q5. The quark is just much brighter, but I do like the UI on the nitecore a lot more. Plus, the nitecore wasn't designed for max output and it has a much better output curve than the quark. It's just the nitecore doesn't have the super low mode that the quarks do.

How did you think the Quark compared in terms of durability to the EX10 since you have owned both. That drop test on youtube of the nitecore is really impressive.

I don't have that same model Quark (I have the 2AA quark) and its a sweet light.

I'd go with the Quark.

I have to admit the Quarks I got are all in titanium. My first titanium quark 123 held up great for 3 months... until I lost it in a blizzard this past winter.... Then I got another built up from spare parts and so far its holding up well. Got a very very tiny chip in the bezel that I took the sharp burr off with a fine ceramic rod. My only gripe with the shorter quarks is the pocket clip. I feel the design of the pocket clip isn't great and it flares out a bit too much. Thats how I lost my light anyways; it must have snagged on my coat out of my pocket. I learned from my mistake though and my second I got without the clip.

I have played with aluminum quarks before though and the build quality it nice. I definitely have more experience with the nitecore since I carried that for a longer time.

All in all, they're made from aluminum. If dropped from high enough or hard enough they'll dent in. You can see mine has gone through several drops and it still works just fine:

I do find that the bezel on the quarks is thicker than on the nitecores so it'll probably dent in a lot less from a drop.

In the end I highly doubt durability will be an issue. Just go with whichever light you think has the functions and capabilities you require.

The quark123 operating methods are sort of goofy. The FenixLD20 is simple, great burn time, rugged and the turbo mode is blinding!

That's not entirely true. There are two versions of the quark, the regular and the tactical. Outside of the addition of moon mode and beacon on loose head, the UI is exactly the same as the Fenix D series with the regular quark line.

Well I just pulled the trigger on the jetbeam. My reasons for this decision were price, throw, and programmable UI. Thanks everyone for all the good advice that I ignored:D Maybe when the nightcore's upgrade the led I will pick one up, hopefully they still have the ramping UI at that point. I will be back to update you guys on how I like this light (shipping from Hong Kong takes a WHILE though).

I'd go with the Quark 123 and pick up the AA and AA2 body tubes. Gotta love that moonlight mode. Are you planning on going for the regular or tactical version if you do get it?

Good choice. As someone that stocks all three of those lights, I would take the JETBeam over the other two as well. I really like being able to program my lights, and the JETBeam programming options are ridiculously vast. My only complaint is that the minimum lumens are not quite low enough, but they appear to be addressing that with their newer models.
