I just got an eye brand knife in a trade and it has plastic handle scales that aren't flush due to warping, I want to have the plastic scales replaced with bone scales can anyone recommend a custom maker or customizer of some sort that can do this for me and what kind of prices will I be looking at for this service?

Try Muskrat Man knives. I haven't had anything done by him, but the would on his site looks awesome.

kenny the cost of the project would easily be twice what you paid for the knife. replacing a blade is simple--replacing handles means total disacessemby . you would probably find this easier by going to a distributor. p.m. me if interested.

it can be done by you for very little, i rehandled an old Dunlap Cattleman Knife that had celluloid scales that had gassed out, it was my granddads, turned out pretty good, wasnt too bad actually had fun doing it. Of course i opted to not completely disassemble it and forgo pins etc. Disassembly and new pins etc greatly increases the difficulty of the project for sure.
Ive heard of Muskrat Man on multiple online forums, also i believe bill deshivs (here on BF) does restoring too
either way good luck

Unless the knife has sentimental value, I'd forego replacing the scales. Just buy another knife with the handle you want, it'll be cheaper.

MuskratMan does very good work, as do I. Unfortunately neither of us is inexpensive.

Yes, it does. I've been drooling over some of the knives pictured in the gallery on his site. Does some very beautiful things with the (ordinarily) plain ol' sodbusters from Case. I've got a large Case soddie that's just screamin' for some custom handles. All it takes is money...
